Sentinel Sky
Sentinel Sky brings veterans together with birds of prey, conservation work, and the land through purposeful, hands-on experiences at Hawk & Spur Ranch. Working alongside our raptor and conservation programs, participants will have opportunities to contribute to the care of wildlife, the restoration of habitat, and the stewardship of Utah’s natural landscapes — creating connection, purpose, and a meaningful way to continue serving.
MORE THAN AN ENCOUNTER
Sentinel Sky is designed to go beyond a single encounter with a bird of prey. Participants will take part in meaningful, hands-on experiences connected to raptor care, conservation, and the land — contributing to real work while learning about the wildlife and landscapes of the Wasatch Back. Through shared responsibility and time spent outdoors, the program creates space for connection, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose.
WORKING ALONGSIDE RAPTORS
Birds of prey are at the heart of Sentinel Sky. Through guided experiences with Hawk & Spur’s raptor program, participants will learn about individual birds, their behavior, and the specialized care they require. Opportunities may include supporting the daily care of non-releasable ambassador raptors, observing rehabilitation work, helping prepare enrichment and habitats, and participating in conservation activities that benefit raptors in the wild.
PURPOSE ON THE LAND
The land is an essential part of Sentinel Sky. Participants will have opportunities to contribute to conservation projects across Hawk & Spur Ranch — restoring native habitat, caring for wildlife-friendly areas, supporting projects that benefit birds of prey and other wildlife, and helping steward the landscape of the Kamas Valley. Working together outdoors creates a tangible connection between caring for the land and caring for the wildlife that depends on it.

Sentinel Sky is being created as a place where veterans can spend time outdoors, work alongside others, contribute to the care of wildlife and land, and be part of something with lasting purpose. At Hawk & Spur Ranch, service continues in a different way — through responsibility, conservation, and connection.
